Chiyo having her arm and horns cut off might be a reference to the Ibaraki-doji (an oni from Heian era stories).
Since she was never explicitly stated to have died, I wonder if like the Ibaraki-doji, she managed to get her severed arm back and is still in hiding somewhere...
We only have his name (Shinichi Shimomura) and we can't verify if alleged photos of him online are really him.
Almost all of his additions to the series were omitted from the anime, and some of these characters vanished from the series for over 20 YEARS.
most of my favourite characters from games, tv shows, etc, will come and go, but my love for Youmu Konpaku is eternal
