Going back through my pre/early pandemic sketchbooks and found some of the earliest fanart I did when I was getting properly into Ultraman, so here’s some scraps

@SunglassPri I actually do a lot of those! I tend to bounce between watercolor, charcoal, digital, and acrylics; most of the ultra art I post is watercolor, especially the quicker sketches. While I don’t do a lot of charcoal for fan stuff. I do use it for personal/student work

There have been a couple of small changes, just by virtue of re-making the suits every few years and new tech developing. The biggest example I can think of was from Taro (‘73) to…gosh, Mebius, I think (‘06)… the Ultra bros all had amber/yellow eyes, and many now have white https://t.co/tiywqq7hVh

Yullian going without a word is like expecting Glenfire to behave himself. You’d be hard-pressed to find an ultra-woman LESS likely to go quietly ( Uchiyama’s Aura is the only one I could think of, though Beth is up there). Yullian is many, many things, but has never been passive

Now, to fix this, I’m not saying Marie couldn’t give him the sword. I actually don’t hate that for her, the bit of backstory on the Ultimate Blade is very cool and it implies Marie’s family is important, and that’s not inherently bad. All I’m saying is we coulda had *both*.

Patiently waiting for the Eng cast voice clips for the Ultra Brothers in UGF3,,,please I want to hear my boys,,,,,,,,

Time to think once again about how Zoffy has no suit regulation and has swapped between “rings on shoulders” and “no rings” even to this day, which either means Ultras can change their markings or there are two Zoffys (image sources: Ultraman, Ace, Ultraman Story, Zoffy movie)
