My favorite gaming news of the day came from neither the Nintendo Direct nor the State of Play.
FREEDOM PLANET 2 IS OUT BABYYYYYYYY
2014 - Shovel Knight
I attribute this game to re-igniting my love for retro graphics from the NES era. Not to mention, it was around this period too where I realized the plethora of indie content I had been missing out on! A fantastic platformer in every way.
2018 - Celeste
For as loaded as 2018 was with game releases, this was a tough one to choose. Between Red Dead, Smash Ultimate, Spiderman, and God of War, all of these were hard hitters. But Celeste stuck out to me the most because of the vast complexity behind its simple design.
2019: Outer Wilds
There's a theme going on here. Story and exploration once again take center stage with this one, told in such a unique fashion that made me nostalgic for the days of Myst. This one left a huge smile on my face.
Plus Shadowbringers for fave 2019 DLC/expac!
2021: It Takes Two
Not gonna lie, I'm actually still halfway through this one. But it didn't take an entire playthrough for me to fall in love with it. It has such a wonderful charm to its storytelling and how it handles its mechanics.
Also, Endwalker for best 2021 DLC/expac!
@ShashamoShamo May I present Exhibit A, back from Moonfire 👀
