I was instantly drawn by the characters personalities, drama, and action all together. Can't forget the smooth music themes during each battle segment From there I started a LP of Sakura Wars in English Subtitles called The Great War of Cherry Blossoms on @SEGAbits forums.

Bonus Trivia: Shenmue began as "Virtua Fighter RPG" starring Akira Yuki before become the series we know and love today. He did appear in a Virtua Fighter spin-off that was an RPG called Virtua Quest as a Virtua Soul to train Sei in order to stop Judgement 6.

He also appears in other anime and manga to some extent! Even his signature move: Tetsuzanko! Here's a list of the names if you're curious.
