20 - Favourite NWR branch
Hard for me to choose between the Little Western and the Ffarquhar branch. I think if the Little Western was fleshed out to the degree Ffarquhar is, that'd be the winner.
16 - Favourite human character
Gotta be the second Fat Controller, Sir Charles Topham Hatt.
8 - Least favourite book
James the Red Engine. It's just boring and the illustrations aren't that interesting. Plus the only story I like in it is rendered semi-non-canon by the infamous 'loop line' plot hole.
6 - Favourite illustrator
Unsurprisingly, Gunvor and Peter Edwards
- I'll just name four I REALLY like. Edward's Exploit, Super Rescue, Bulldog, Mavis
3 - Favourite story
Oooh this is a hard one. I LOVE the chase sequence in A Close Shave, but the silliness with the barber kills the mood a bit, and it only works as the conclusion to a trilogy rather than something you can enjoy on its own. So then -
2 - Favourite book
Tramway engines. After learning all about Awdry's Ffarquhar branch layout and timetables, this book feels so 'right'. The branch is very thought-out, it feels so realistic. Some of my favourite illustrations too!
For #PokemonDay2022 I'll re-share my Pokemon trainer OC Oscar and his ancestor Algernon! (It's the same Torkoal passed down through generations 😀)
I keep meaning to make more Pokemon fanart. When I'm done with #PokemonLegendsArceus I'll draw my fave Pokémon of each type!
Tom has built an excellent set of models depicting said locos, and kindly commissioned me to draw two of them last year! So this is, in fact, a LEGO model based on an illustration based on a model based on an unseen Railway Series character! 😄
