The first time I saw Aitchison’s illustration in a Ladybird book, I thought it was comedy sci-fi.
But no - it really did look like that.
I’ve enjoyed watching Jon Bentley’s ‘homage to Peter and Jane’ evolve over the years. I see it’s now available as a hard-back so will add it to my Xmas list.
