On this day 1802, Nicolas Baudin arrives in Sydney Town. Privateer, brilliant navigator, explorer and hydrographer, fascinated by discovery. Baudin's cockatoo named for him. First man to have a map of Australia published. And on one voyage he did carry slaves.
