Cobbling together a setting for Last fleet with parts Star Trek: Voyager (enemies forced to work together), Farscape (Unknown Space), dimensional travel and the RPG Abandon All Hope.

Flashback to 1984 with Paranoia. Satirical RPGs have always had a hard road to go, but Paranoia was interesting in that it was a competitive RPG instead of the cooperative norm. Although I haven’t ran it since the 80’s, I’d like to revisit it someday.

The question I get asked most often by folks wanting to branch out from D&D is what is my recommendation. I could list dozens. A big eye opener though is any of the Powered by the Apocalypse/Forged in the Dark games. There’s one to scratch about any RPG genre itch.

After a through read of Band of Blades a normal GM would be jazzed about the background story.

My brain starts thing I could adapt Vietnam era Tour of Darkness for the start of a Torg like campaign following up with a Behind the hedge Europe.
