All this being said, I think if you take most of the issues on their own theirs a lot to like.
Theres one artist, Bernard Chang, on every issue but the special and he's excellent. Most issues stand mostly on their own and provide plently of brillent moments.

I think a better way for Robin's new modus operandi to resonate better is if they waited for Nightwing/Ric incident to occur and the change is him desperately trying to make sure it or worse doesnt happen to his loved ones.
The team ends up fighting a bunch of Dicks villains too.

For starters most of the series new direction was resting so much on Damian's character arc which failed on multiple levels.
The reasons for him starting the new direction was a family business getting attacked. You can't introduce them same issue and expect an audience reaction.

@bywordofmaus The Geoff Johns mini from 2000 was good. Hes also getting a graphic novel under the same DC Inks imprint as the recent Raven.

@LetsTalkRobbie Robbie is probably my fav from marvel but what can I say besides I'm DC fan boy.
