circled are hard highlights, where light is bouncing off the skin/clothes etc.

Here are my individual contributions and some design insight in this thread!

@t0ggy2 mind you this is a VERY quick mockup but it's an interesting idea to bring those aspects of the design from G2 forward (maybe fix the shoes too)

One of these days I think I'll have to do a video on just how awful Sinnoh's character designs are

with a few exceptions they just make absolutely zero sense even within both Pokemon's style as well as the context of the region itself

@TheFantasticIan it’s funny because Dragon Ball used highlights effectively for a long time, mainly through Nakatsuru or even Toriyama himself

Yamamuro just used them very improperly and made each character look like a toy, combined with his typical poor linework and colour choices
