Light Keeper

Twice a year, Light Keepers help light the White Fires along the coasts of the northern islands. Kindled with driftwood and knotted rope, the fires burn for days in a hope to guide lost fisher souls back to the shore

Light Keepers are trained from childhood to capture the light of day in knotted ropes. At night the bundled, growing ropes will light the way for fishers to return home safely. Light Keepers are recognisable by their dark dress and faintly glowing eyes
