This applies to more than just characters too, props are almost always the same scale and size between pony and EQG, this creates a lot of easter eggs, intentional or unintentional. About the only things that aren't used for both are backgrounds, they're too different.
Something interesting that I wanna talk about, that no one asked but I am sharing anyway, is scale. Something all artists have to deal with, but most probably have a vastly different approach to me. This size chart right here is solely for fun, I have no need for this myself.
Mikey is my favorite for a reason. Anyway, have something I made months ago and shared before as I'm lazy.
Since in FiM canon, Seaponies are just lying hiding Hippogriffs, I decided to split them off as their own thing, but with a kinship to Hippogriffs. As I am not fond of how adult Hippogriff Seaponies look, I based Jordan off of Terramar, who is a teenager, but Jordan is an adult.
Seaponies choosing to sleep in land pony form must wake up every hour or so for water or they will quickly dehydrate and get weak, this usually means they will sleep in Seapony form in water if possible.
He indeed likes to sing and his singing can affect the emotions of others, however he tries to only use this for good. Siren singing doesn't affect undead for some unknown reason.
While I made male Sirens smaller and less aggressive and strong than female Sirens, I made Kellin even smaller, weaker, and less aggressive much more than that. While he's not helpful he does rely almost exclusively on magic in comparison to the rest of his species.
Despite all this bad reputation, Sirens are generally respected within their own domain and other predators usually leave them alone as they don't want to become prey, but sometimes work with Sirens to find and capture food together.
Part 2 of fishpony Siren headcanon stuff as I talk so much. Continuing from the last one in the tweet below woo.
