Kellin is rather intimate, both romantically, sexually, and emotionally, he often just sings his emotions openly, much to Oli's frustration as he's not the biggest fan of Kellin's singing. Oli is rather reserved and closed off in comparison.

While many ponies Kellin has revealed himself to had a negative reaction at first, Oliver did not. Oliver is a zombie, he's been one for several years, it is his own fault he's a zombie, he's used to others seeing him as a 'monster', he doesn't see Kellin as a monster.

Remember that in this universe, Kellin is a Siren, he can shapeshift into a pony and generally lives that way, he is over 2,000 years old. He doesn't usually reveal this form to others thanks to species prejudices. Oli is one of few ponies he's revealed his true self to.

I really like this outfit, as little sense as it makes in EQG, Mikey's just a school librarian here. Still. Maybe he likes to dress up in his free time. Or maybe this is actually pony Mikey in this world, who knows, I don't even know.
