When Disney bought Fox, they basically abandoned the final X-men projects. Dark Phoenix & New Mutants, about $280 million worth of films.

Warner is being even bolder with their latest move, abandoning about $600 million+ of movies (Flash, Aquaman 2, Shazam 2, Blue Beetle)
