Inspired by @ComicPerch's sales analysis video, I thought I'd input the 2002-2004 Dreamwave Transformers G1 series sales into a chart.
Numbers yoinked from @comichron and I'm not sure if they include 2nd printings (#1,2,4) and 3rd printing (#1)
I haven't tried Metal Slug Attack, but it's got a ton of cool artwork.
I believe these are all illustrated by SNK's Tonko.
@JetpackComics @ComicPerch Sometimes it's certainly done to cut costs, but coloring pencils can be done well.

First is colored from inks. Second is colored from pencils. Different styles but both work I think.

Transformers #1-6 by Dreamwave in 2002.
Okay, technically issue #5 was 2nd in sales, (beaten by DW's Transformers: Armada #1)
