Mist in the Winter Foliage--glad I'm finished with this one. It's been at the back of my mind for a few days. I hope to make another one reminiscent of this morning, only a darker, eerier version.
Two "just for fun" sister paintings. I used Prima Watercolor Confections Shimmering Lights palette to get the sparkle.
The fog this morning was absolutely incredible. Goo was ooing and ahhing at way the smoke from chimneys just sort of lingered in the trees with the river mist. Looked like ghosts on one end, on sunrise end it looked like a country morning. I've been dying to paint it ever since.
Been hard for me to work today because of a nasty headache, but I have gotten somewhere at least. I'm hoping to finish tomorrow but we will see!
Sooo with Chai constantly getting into my stuff while I'm working and always wanting to be on me, I had a thought to try my old moby wrap from when Goo was a baby and omg he loves it. Part cat part marsupial.
Just call me queen of the cat ladies.
Once I got the green mixed up (which I loooooove) I didn't like how it went with the orange. So I changed the orange to a reddish brown. Yum! Gold is next.
It's been a long time since I've done a painting this large, but one of my goals for 2020 was to paint larger. Feels good!

Remember that time I shot the 2017 solar eclipse with my rolleiflex?
Was such a fun day yesterday! Can't wait to get started on my large intuitive piece and the blog post, which will publish tomorrow morning!
A Life Well-Lived
