This was the color thumbnail before fully rendering it. Seeing the before and afters, Lugia's anatomy was very weird to begin with. I tightened up his lower body in the final painting so it felt more feasible.

As an added bonus, this artwork inadvertently turned out to be "Pokémon: The Movie 2000" fanart.

In the last decade, artistically, I went from being afraid to use color and avoiding full body creature designs to the complete opposite.
