Don't use black from the tube!

Purists recoil in horror as Liselle breaks time-honoured rule again, and it looks totally fine 👌

The colour palette I am most familiar with is this spacey one. I started out doing a lot of galaxy backgrounds when I was younger, which set me up perfectly for painting black animals! This one has turned into a real test of confidence in creating intense, dark washes 🙏

It's been a trying couple of weeks for #painting with 6 pieces relegated to the bin; it's infuriated me that I've struggled to create what's in my brain on paper after lots of planning. And then after a split second decision, with 0 planning, along came this wee one.

Touché, cling film.

I've been experimenting! It's going to take alot of trial & error controlling this technique, but the way it works with multi-tonal pigments like Cascade Green & Rose of Ultramarine is just 👌
