I had a dog growing up that always had sticks, leaves and assortment of off things he picked up in his messy hair. We joked that he could have had a bird's nest in there and we wouldn't have noticed. Having fun remembering that good pooch.

It's official I am head over heals painting pups. I guess being a kitty mom, it took me longer to discover how much I also love painting dogs, but I will get to do a lot of them this year. Just signed my contract for the new book, and there will be DOGS! #kidlit #kidlitart

Oh my goodness, it has been a funky day, which I know we are all having far too many of!! Just leafed through some past paintings to try to regroup and find some semblance of a creative zone. Hard to do, but this sketch did make me smile a little. Take care all!

Baby animals like primates literally have to apologize to their playmates if they play too rough before their partner will play again. I learned so many amazing facts about animal behavior working on this book, Play in The Wild. Grateful for what this work brings into my life!
