I got a stupid idea:
What if instead of retopologizing my reference sculpts, I just decimated them and rigged 'em?
The answer is: that's not good enough deformation for rendered art, but it'll certainly do for reference pictures. Which is the whole reason I'm making the sculpts.
Had to sculpt the girls first, just 'cuz. But except for one panel riding leathers Jenny, they won't show up in the first comic. So, I guess we're kinda sorta moving towards on track to begin producing the comic.
Now I have a sculpt that can be used to help keep Jenny on model. It's not perfect. I wish I had the time, energy, and ambition to retopo, rig, and properly texture this, but as concept sketches go, it'll do what I need.
Done with the basic sculpt, now working on clothes and... must run errands. Sad.
Workin' on a sculpt just for fun.
But I do plan on using sculpts to keep characters on-model in my future work.
