Study #1 has gone smoothly!

Facial proportions in 'anime' are forever a struggle but I think the 'dreamy' effect of the colors and lighting is starting to click.

@MonotronFox you have to exaggerate the proportions in a completely different way than I'm "used to" for that style sometimes, and I swear it activates COMPLETELY different parts of my art brain... lol it's so weird.... cuz I USUALLY do stuff like this:

I absolutely went through a phase where I stopped drawing in the "western" art style and tried to emulate the more "eastern" anime/manga style almost exclusively... I still do it sometimes, but I'm kinda terrible at it LOL
