I've been thinking a lot about video games lately, and I've been trying my best to like. Think about whether or not there are any objectively perfect games?? I don't think there ever will be, but these four, to me, are the closest I think we'll ever get.
Punch-Out!! for Wii was a game I grew up with, but played through again this year and it was a really good time! Still holds up great and it's a perfect love letter to fans of that original NES game!
The Halo Series filled a very specific niche for me that I didn't know I wanted. Sci-fi isn't usually my thing outside of Star Wars, but the vibes and tone of the Halo games struck a great chord in my brain and I love Master Chief and he's my dad
Dark Souls was a decision I made very hastily and it very quickly became one of my favorite games of all time. I love every single thing about this game, if you ever see this game go on sale, PLEASE play this if you haven't, once you learn it it's incredible
Panzer Paladin was a great NES throwback, I put it right up there with games like Shovel Knight and Blazing Chrome as great showcases of their respective inspired consoles. It's 2D hack and slash gameplay was absolutely fun to run through in a night
Ghost of Tsushima, to me, was a stellar Breath of the Wild follow up, it did everything that game did pretty well and it's world was so fun to traverse, writing haikus and befriending foxes in this was my favorite stuff
Final Fantasy VII REMAKE was a crazy cool experience. I loved a lot it did, and I disliked a lot of what it did, but I walked away incredibly excited for what's to come and I'm absolutely happy I finally got to play this after 5 years of waiting
