So this is the cover for #CaptainMarvel #42, which is an AXE tie-in, and that's Mari-Ell "Marie" Danvers, Carol's mom! Carol's recently *deceased* mom. Will the conflict over immortality between Eternals and Krakoans result in others being resurrected, somehow? #AXE #JudgmentDay
Captain America: Sentinel of Liberty by @JacksonLanzing, @cpkelly & @CarmenCarnero feels like a modern DeMatteis/Zeck/Neary run (truly my highest praise). For the first time in a LONG time, Steve has a life: civilian friends! Honing his art! And a grand adventure. It's wonderful.
I just noticed that's Tiger Shark in @RB_Silva's #CaptainMarvel #40 cover. A curious pull by @79SemiFinalist. Carol faced Tiger Shark in 1977's Ms. Marvel series, issues #15-16. Not a major Carol villain, but an interesting enemy for Binary, who's filling in for Carol currently.
I'm enjoying these comics well enough, but, as you pointed out in the livestream, something was lost along the way between Moira becoming such an intriguing, morally complex character in HOX #2 and Moira going all-out supervillain and wearing his ex's face in XDOW #4. #XSpoilers https://t.co/i9izK2AUdl
CLEA STRANGE SUPREMACY!
(Specifically, supremacy of the sorcerous kind 😋)
Oh please let Silva stay on Captain Marvel covers for a good long run...
I just KNEW this was written by @ryanqnorth, even before the credits. Man, I miss Unbeatable Squirrel Girl...
CAPTAIN MARVEL #33 by @79SemiFinalist and @SergioDavila007 was as good as I hoped. I jumped and grinned like an idiot when we got that connection back to the underappreciated Secret Avengers #26-28; a lot of people forget Mar-Vell lived again, if only for a short time!
@CaptMarvelNews @79SemiFinalist @SergioDavila007 I really like Sergio's art. And he's got a good Carol. I like the hair especially. When he was announced, I looked back at the first issue of the new Black Knight mini to remember how he drew her, and yeah, this looks like an evolution of that (she was mostly in the background.)
