The second part of the analysis: abyss’ lights.
This shadow remind me to the lights we see when a new Baskerville is born or what only Glen sees, but I think they can be the lights that appears around the Core so they can be another representation of her relationship with Lacie

I think these are the chains that "hold" the world, but they aren't broken since in this volume they weren’t + Jack didn’t break them until the next volume.
And they come out of the same point, and I think this represents the Core of the abyss and her relationship with Lacie

The little lights that all around the cover seems to represent the snowflakes that are falling in important moments inside the volume: when Lacie and Jack met, when they reunited and when Jack learned about Lacie’s death

It is clearly Arthur’s memories he found just before Yura’s mansion arc, where Arthur confessed all the things he did in the past an all the things Jack told him

The second part of the analysis: the hanging cage.
This kind of things are what Ada show see loves in this volume. Anyways the election of this shadow, among all the things that Ada had, can be important since this cage is where people were condemned to die trapped for starvation

I love this detail soooooo much. She is wearing this black veil as a refence to her mourning for her brother’s death (this was common in the 19th century). Under this she is wearing her school uniform, so I think the veil shows how tied she is to this part of her life
