while we're talking XC1 reaction images, this is one of my favorites because it's like three separate reactions for three different moods in one

it took me until now to realize that the entire fact that Brighid is calm and cerebral which isn't like most characters with fire powers is probably because the Xenogears character who inspired her design was a water specialist

so how about that lore-filled flashback arc detailing the tragic downfall of a once proud Japan-inspired country focusing heavily on the exploits of a legendary swordsman prince whose face we haven't seen until now and ends up having a much goofier personality than we thought

introducing the new worst thing I've ever done

of course I'm still going to overanalyze the hell out of it; it's probably just the artist's coloring style or lighting, but Riki's and his outfit seem to be a bit differently colored than any past appearance, so this might be his color scheme in DE

XC2 is great because the first and second characters are the same species, while all three characters in the third image are technically different species, and none of them are the same as the first two
