'Standard' Pattern Heavy Mech making use of its powerful rear engines to close the distance. Stripped down armour and a smaller HD weapon compared to its contemporaries make it less threatening to other heavies, but more dangerous to light mechs.

Light mech avoiding death from a direct plasma shot thanks to an ablative sheath. Wrapped around the mech before combat, the sheath detonates outward, violently, when hit by high energy weapons. This shears off the outer armour but keeps the substructure safe.

Been getting into @songsofconquest recently. Its got some of the best spritework I've seen in a while. Rana's especially good, with their frog guards being my favourite unit
Late 'Chivalry' era light mech, eschewing armour and hyperdense melee weapon in favour of more powerful thrusters and a high powered plasma rifle. The proliferation of more powerful energy weapons marked the end of the heavy mech's dominance on the battlefield.

Light mech taking a dose of plasma to the dome. Thankfully for the pilot, all the most vital systems (including them!) are in the torso of the mech, although the heavy damage is bound to knock the machine out either way.
