The Lord Lyon attended the Scottish Samurai awards ceremony at Broomhall House yesterday and presented the Order of Scottish Samurai with a coat of arms. The artist was Maggie Spalding.

At yesterday's Head Court at the Court of Session, Roderick Alexander Macpherson was sworn in as Unicorn Pursuivant.

It was with great sadness that the Lord Lyon and the Court of Lord Lyon heard of the death of Major General Mark Strudwick CBE, former Governor of Edinburgh Castle and former Prior of the Venerable Order of St John in Scotland. Our condolences are with his widow and family.

On the 4th September the Lord Lyon gave a lecture to the Robert Burns World Federation Conference on the subject of the New Coat of Arms for Robert Burns . The conference was held in Renfrew. Here are the arms of the Federation:
