In 1969, he completed the Theater of Performing Arts, now the Tanghalang Pambansa, probably his most known building. It is located in the Cultural Center of the Philippines Complex in Manila.

His first major commission was the Church of Holy Sacrifice completed in 1955. It was the first circular chapel with the altar in its center in the country, and the first to have a thin shell concrete dome. In 2005, it was designated a National Historical Landmark.

Prominent filipino architect Leandro V. Locsin died on this day 25 years ago. Born in 1928, he designed many churches, cultural and public buildings, and hotels, most of them in the Philippines. He was proclaimed a National Artist of the Philippines for Architecture in 1990.
