The thing I enjoyed most were the fight scenes and robot designs. Not only are those parts well done, but the fights look like they were in the style of 90s Mech shows that obari animated and I think that intentional.
Kenji Kawai's music is also really good.

It honestly felt like the 2nd Wataru OVA but less good with how there's only one robot in it, that being Dark Granzort.
He honestly gets the short end of the stick, but at least he looks as cool as hell.

Watched Granzort Bouken Hen.
It was decent, though it felt less like Granzort and more like a Crusher Joe one off more than anything. Kind of an underwhelming send off for Granzort, since there isn't even much robot fights
There's also a Ship literally called the Norman Bates.
