"I would burn my right hand in a slow fire
To change the future … I should do foolishly. The beauty of modern
Man is not in the persons but in the
Disastrous rhythm, the heavy and mobile masses, the dance of the
Dream-led masses down the dark mountain."

-Robinson Jeffers, 1935

"Some years ago on the gold coins we used to trust in God...to be put on the gold and silver coins which circulated among the rich. They didn't put it on the nickels and coppers because they didn't think the poor folks had any trust in God."
-Samuel Clemens

-Albert Camus

Pro Tip: Be honest, but have a well-timed duck up your sleeve.

No poet me, not a word:
A second, red-lipped mouth recites to me,
for my Earth cut me from Herself,
& from this mortal wound I collect blood to spell out desperate images
of blossoms & muddy thigh bones.
Each is a love letter in which I ask for reconciliation with my Lady Earth.

Humanity? We apes puff ourselves up with such a grand word.
Where's Tree-nity? Where's Rock-inity? Horse-inity? These concepts are as valid as 'humanity', but ignored.
Every sentient being understands itself to be 'human' in the sense of being centrally important:
They are! 🐞😀

American society is an antique from the 1970s: Consumers unthinkingly consuming the planet.
Stick to your unsuitable consumer ways if you must, but the world is moving on without you.
