I was pleasantly surprised to see the return of Colonel Sulphur in Warren Ellis & ’s excellent series BATMAN’S GRAVE. Sulphur was created by Denny O’Neil & Irv Novick in BATMAN I wrote & interviewed Denny about this story in my book THE BATCAVE COMPANION.

I've worked for TwoMorrows Publishing for 14 years. As a small publisher, they're suffering due to the pandemic & closure of Diamond. Unlike Marvel and DC they can't withstand this much longer. Please buy their books & magazines. Keep comics history alive! https://t.co/B5rY0QmUjX

Last night I was was rereading the ‘Gulag” storyline in Ed Brubaker’s Captain America run. It only lasts a few issues, but it’s great and Butch Guile’s art is phenomenal!

Very sad to learn Martin Pasko died. I’ve been reading him since I was a young comic collector. First time I saw his name was in DC letters columns & AMAZING WORLD OF DC COMICS, the in-house mag of DC. I had a subscription and Pasko was one of the “Woodchucks.”

ALIEN (1979) was heavily influenced by 1958’s IT: THE THE TERROR BEYOND SPACE. https://t.co/3vEblRdBx5

MOKF was the first issue I bought. A friend at the Miami newsstand where I bought comics knew I was a movie fan & told me drew movie stars into the story: Marlon Brando, Marlene Dietrich, David Niven, Sean Connery & Bruce Lee. I became an instant fan! https://t.co/sfMcVC7lb5

Rereading ’s run on Batman. Absolutely, extraordinary! I’m amazed by Morrison’s ability to pull in so much from Batman’s past, going back to 1939 & keep it all within the context of his long storyline. What he & the artists did was redefine the character’s world.

Definitely these four, but of course there are more.
