@Sugarp1e1 @EmptyBrooke Also, as dumb as it sounds and goes against some thoughts, bases really helped me. I think being able to trace the work allowed me to get a sense of how I was supposed to draw what I wanted to. I didn’t use them for long but they did help with practice
@Sugarp1e1 @EmptyBrooke Then I started drawing digitally and that effected my growth. I was able to access references easily by just pulling them beside my work in SAI. I also attribute a lot of my growth to drawing traditional for a long time before touching digital
@Sugarp1e1 @EmptyBrooke My style changed a lot over a short period of time, but certain things never changed. My eyes stayed consistent, my face shapes were similar (until I hit a weird long face period)
I continued to study as I grew and that helped the change massively
@Sugarp1e1 @EmptyBrooke As time went on I started changing things I didn’t like, like face shapes and general body shape. Eventually that lead to me experimenting with colors, angles, perspective
