Why didn't I realize this sooner that this demon is based on tamagotchi/digimon/vpets in general?
Even its name ends in a similar way as all tamagotchi do. It could also be a parody of the names Mametchi or Memetchi two mascot tamagotchi. (which is very similar to Nemechi)
