Miragaia the long-necked stegosaur performing a courtship ritual that involves kicking poop around while trying to look elegant. Don’t judge - I’m sure single Miragaias love it. #paleoart
Our train today had noisy family with a whining child. I was probably making this face for half the journey. It’s Megacerops, a distant relative of horses and rhinos.
So I got a new pet. Made the left half of this for a textbook illustration (originally to show how to measure a tree), and thought to add something more interesting. My first idea was a dromaeosaur, but @JCTArtStudio has definitely done that earlier and better! #paleoart
Creepy things. One of the illustrations I made for the book Elämää maaperän kätköissä ("Life hidden in the soil"), published earlier this year. A shelled amoeba (Diffugia), a ciliate (Paramecium), a classic amoeba, and a "flagellate" (Bodo saltans). #microbes #bioillustration
After seeing my Eocene horse piece, someone suggested drawing #Megatherium as a lapdog. I know it’s awful. Sorry not sorry.
Went 50 million years back in time, brought back a pet. Inspired by the Eocene horse sketches by @VilleSinkkonen. Does this count as self portrait?
Kirjoitin blogissa Etelä-Amerikan evoluution oudosta suunnasta. Oli hirmulintuja, pussikissoja ja kärsäkameleita.
