This beautiful illustration belongs to the film's poem sequence that we just can't stop talking about. Believe it or not, this specific scene has been in the books since last summer.

We've shown you Mari, the protagonist for #Malinchista, but like most characters, the final design wasn't always how she looked like. These are just one look at the many early designs for Mari, featuring some hair ideations and arm hair trials! Design by @AnneMaslen

Here is the first peek into Malinchista's cast! The artists of the film did their best to include different skin colors and body types, and even did their research on women's arm hair for our protagonist, Mari, in order to show diversity and uniqueness within the culture.
