Fun fact: Jane Eyre was published under a male pseudonym. Charlotte Bronte used the name “Currer Bell” to mask her gender while keeping her own initials. Sisters Emily & Anne also used pseudonyms for their publications, going by Ellis and Acton Bell respectively.

Did you know: Jane Eyre's 'Madwoman in the Attic' was based on a real person? It is said that Bronte drew inspiration for her 'madwoman' after viewing a secret passageway in a medieval manor which led to 'Mad Mary's Room.'
