AZ's Floette is also a bit of an anomaly here. We haven't seen anything resembling it since Pokemon XY. Unless of course you consider what happens in the post-game of Scarlet/Violet.

I mentioned it during Tuesday's stream, but, it can't be a coincidence that AZ's name shares the same initials as the late-game area in Scarlet/Violet.

He's also a former king, over 3000 years old, and was not above using Pokemon with "unique powers" to win a war.
