Due to Matilda's birthday, we're doing #TaxonomyTuesday on a Wednesday this week and she has asked to add a #BlackWidow spider to the #MapOfLife
Matilda also had a stab at #Sundayfishsketch this week with this Red Finned Catfish. This will be her last one as a 6 year old.
@ChloeCarterArts What a lovely idea. I draw to engage my daughter with the diversity of the natural world. She loves seeing me draw the creatures that she requests and then adding them to our map of life. I have 281 awesome followers.
Matilda is really going for the #microanimals for the #mapof life at the moment. This week, it's the #dustmite
I was going to do this #TaxonomyTuesday last week for #SharkWeek but I had already added the head louse to the #MapOfLife. So now it's time for Matilda's pick of the Sharks, the #Megalodon
We're bringing #SharkWeek and this #MapOfLife to a close with the #holocephali
These are another subclass of cartilaginous fish which come together with the #elasmobrachs to create the class #chondrichthyes
On day 4 of #SharkWeek we are adding some of the extinct forerunners of the sharks to our #MapOfLife
They complete the subclass known as the #Elasmobranchs
We're half way through our #SharkWeek #MapOfLife build where we are now meeting the next closest thing to sharks. The #batoidea all the ray-like fish and are classified along with the sharks as the #Neoselachii
Shark week is not distracting from our usual content and inspired by the addition of the tardigrade, Matilda thought of another #microanimal for the #mapoflife
A #headlouse (thankfully there are none in our house)
Continuing our #SharkWeek celebrations, today we meet the Squalomorpha. They come together with yesterday's Galeomorphi to form the "true sharks" the Selachimorpha.
