I haven't been at my Unity PC much lately (and will continue to be busy - I'm taking a hiatus for a couple days due to IRL plans) but here's a progress update on the Mercury lab stuff...

Some Mercury Lab progress shots... Had to work to fit it in the constraints of Kerbal.

Realized Mercury wouldn't be done in time for the weekend so I whipped up something people have been waiting for... Agena SOT (Strap On Tank). Two sizes for fitting in 2.5m and 1.875m respectively. These drop tanks are meant to be staged in pairs.

No time for a big update thread but here's current Mercury progress. The retro and posigrade motors will be separate parts. The retros will have jettisonable covers that pop off when you stage them.

Here's the mesh switch to change the window to the original twin-porthole capsule design. This version also lacked the explosive hatch - the same thing that would cause Gus Grissom's capsule to sink due to premature release.

I think I'll be able to do some neat paintjobs..

Here's a closer up detail on the top of the parachute/RCS/Mystery Goo combo. The mystery goo serves as an increased reward for achieving crewed flight, while the GATV Materials Bay rewards for rendezvous.

The layout is based on the real compartments in the Mercury capsule.

Most of the capsule proper is close to being done. There's some small details here and there left to add, and things I haven't touched yet like endcaps. We're keeping the mystery goo experiment in the Hermes, I like it. Feels whimsical. Included in the parachute/RCS.
