I couldn’t stop the feeling that my old Superman drawing just didn’t work. The clouds weren’t pleasing to the eye.

I got rid of them and feel the cleaner look is better.

This first picture is my latest human head study. Playing with light and shadow only, and trying to avoid using too many values.

Head studies using only light and shadow, with a few gentler tones to soften forms. It’s great fun to paint with light.
