The first album I ever bought with my own money was Bowie’s Hunky Dory.
His music has been my companion all my adult life.
Here are some great images of David Bowie by @AK_Hevonen, whose art reflects her experiences of living with autism.
Plus a Starman image she did of me. https://t.co/7nnfZ77zra
@LeedsTransLad George Michael and Prince hit me bad but David Bowie hit me hardest.
I’d just been listening to his new album, Black Star (one of his best), and had got into the fantasy that he was about to tour.
I went and joined the crowds outside the @RitzyCinema.

If you had to choose a picture of you as your album cover, what would you pick?
Help me pick. https://t.co/RSoutjQAjc
Three years ago(ish) I posted this image of me at 21 (with awesome hair).
The photo was then used as set dressing for an episode of Mark Gatiss’ Queers series of monologues, starring Russell Tovey.
Which prompted this portrait by German artist AK Hevonen.
The power of Twitter.
My friend @AK_Hevonen has autism, which influences her art.
She has honoured me once again with a painting of me.
I know she appreciates the social contact she gets from Twitter so please share, tell her what you think, and give her a follow.

Attempting to divide our communities is unnecessary and unhelpful.
We are stronger when we stand together.

Here’s an article I wrote a while back about why I believe it’s both right and important that gay men visibly and vocally support trans people.
