I have tested this myself by catching Fire Icons and winning only one game, and it still turned into Sylveon, so I did my own research as well to be sure since the article is kinda broad on the subject.

The Eevee you have must only play Catch Kinomi, and not get any Kinomi, but touch the Water, Lightning, or Fire Icons each day, the last Icon touched on the 3rd day before evolving will be that Eeveelution. Feed it snacks and such, but always lose CK.
