Okay...after trying our hands at paintings, my son and I decided to make our first attempt at a manuscript re-creation! Here he is as St. Nicholas from the fabulous Claricia Psalter (W.26), created in Germany ca. 1200.

Why did Alphonse Mucha include what clearly must be Thanksgiving turkeys in his 1897 edition of Robert des Fler's "Ilsee, Princesse de Tripoli" (92.808)? The world will never know...😉
Wishing everyone in the US a safe and Happy Turkey Day!

You know, if we knew they were looking to cast "Cats," we could have helped! We have musical cats, cats lost in their memories, cats who break the 4th wall, and traces of cats pirouetting across things! Cue the music...

Some fun geocentric models of the zodiac, winds, and rotations of the planets from a 12th century English cosmography (W.73)! The monks who put this together didn't quite have it right, but their diagrams are fantastic!
Happy #EarthDay !
