17th July 1918, during its trip to Boston, the Carpathia (rescue ship of #Titanic) was torpedoed by the German submarine U-55. She sank off the Irish coast. The sinking causes 5 victims and the 215 survivors (including 57 passengers) are saved by the HMS Snowdrop.
