I persisted through my burn out because I wanted to post everything that I found important, and I also had constructed a narrative with the old Twitter fleets that coincided with my daily uploads.
I sort of dreaded that day. I enjoyed waking up to 20+ notifications and hundreds of likes every day, constantly discussing and discovering things about the Metal Gear series and really letting it soak into my brain.
When I started this account, I had this bright eyed enthusiasm. I had just finished playing through most of the MGS games for the first time in 2020, and I had a lot I wanted to share and discuss with any remaining fans of the series.
"better than every other game", "more Metal Gear than the main games" (which is like saying Hyrule Warriors is more Zelda than the main Zelda games). This overwhelming acceptance that MGR is an untouchable masterpiece makes me overly critical of it given that I find-
Gameplay:
The gameplay in MGR is satisfying and rockin'. The fast and frantic action flows pretty well with the zandatsu and blade mode techniques, and once nailed, the parries are incredible to pull off.

If you've been here for a while, you may remember I made a thread about how I didn't favor a lot of MGR's aspects. However that thread was poorly constructed and kind of said nothing of worth, so this formal review will allow me to break down my thoughts better.
The final battle is also spectacular and a fitting end to the life paths between both Solid Snake and Ocelot, injecting you with that final adrenaline rush of nostalgia and violence that these two old timers are so obsessed with.
This fight is why I save this game for last.
come across as uncomfortably aggressively sexualized. However they are mostly great, like Laughing Octopus forcing you to play hide and seek in a unique battle. My only complaint is that some of these fights last way too long for their own good because of how the damage is dealt.
