What excites me about Sable is how its aesthetic looks to be a cross between the Nausicaä manga and the Moebius comics Miyazaki was clearly inspired by.
In parts Les Olympiades feels more in tune with Tomine's prints and magazine covers. Single characters alone in the big city. Anyway, hoping someone does a deep dive into the film as an adaptation.
And do check out Huang Hai's other posters, too. I have a print of their Shoplifters artwork on the wall, but that Totoro poster is the one I dream about...
