@nmyheadpod @andybialk Just wanted to say I liked the 50’s UPA/Googie art style you and the team did for later seasons of Dexter, Powerpuff and the 2nd WandaVision (did you work on that or was that a different designer?)
What was your favorite cartoon to do art/character designs on?
I just learned that @BenjaminDiskin (the guy that does Humphrey in @Saberspark’s “Alpha and Omega” vid) is the same guy that did Number 1 AND 2 in @misterwarburton’s cartoon, “Codename: Kids Next Door”
Pls tell me you’re in a better place now Ben :(
Just finished watching at least 1 episode from every season of the series. It had it’s ups and downs (creator isn’t entirely at fault, it was a situation beyond his control), and it went from being a 70’s “Scooby-Doo” love letter to a 60’s “Bewitched” homage, and back again https://t.co/0iEPtai0Dy
These were all shows on Cartoon Network that were listed as TV-Y7 and were still regularly shown well after 2011 and I don’t see anyone having a problem with these https://t.co/6fRIaSnQI3
Rough v final cleanup of my Suzy doodle from Johnny Bravo. Tried making it a “happy medium” between @vmpartible and @KirkTingblad designs. Plan on sending it to a sick family member tomorrow 😊
Finished up “Cuphead” awhile back and remembered “Teenage Robot”, which @RobRenzetti made for Nickelodeon. Sporting a 30’s Art Deco/Fleischer design instead of the 50’s UPA/Googie style popular with competitors really makes it stand out, even amongst its own Nicktoon brethren
@SomeKirbyFan You know now that I think about it a LOT of video game characters seem to be heavily inspired by the 30’s “rubber hose” look of early Disney and Fleischer works
These are the only ones I know I’ve seen more than one episode of https://t.co/gAVhqXHNSJ
@BeansNoContext @NoContextPPG @CrackMcCraigen @andyparkart @wandavision @MarvelStudios @cartoonnetwork fun fact: Hanna Barbera animated the intro to "Bewitched", and was a major influence in the art style of "Johnny Bravo", a Cartoon Network show also done by the studio
holy trinity of enjoyable show-to-film adaptations (Ed, Edd, n Eddy is an honorable mention) https://t.co/t3Sd0uKP45
