Reference sheets read like blueprints. Limitless imagination. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little intimidated by the task of drawing her characters at first, but she always received them so warmly. They were such a delight to draw. Tero was a favorite.
@tacokatto I've drawn more Dodgy than I can remember, but narrowed it down to 4
Angus, Bo, & Shivers were first drawn April 9th, 2007. These are older commemorative pieces that happened over the past 13 years. I rarely draw them, but they're still special to me.
Ferrets continued to pop up in my art from 2010 to 2014 through commissions & gifts. Did I notice a connection yet? Nope! (8/10)
2009/2010: Buttons the taxidermied zombie ferret appeared as a throwaway character in a Halloween comic I'd drawn. This was significant because I'd chosen a ferret without being prompted by anyone! Was I subconsciously thinking about them? (7/10)
Also from 2009, this was an important commission for rhaynes37 on deviantArt. I never got to know him very well as he died not long after I drew this, but I know he adored his ferrets. I think of him often. I wish I could tell him how much I love ferrets now. (6/10)
2008: DeviantArt snowballed into more opportunities to draw ferrets. People had them as pets & also OCs! I still didn't feel any connection to them, but they kept appearing in my art. (4/10)
