Probably done to make himself hard to find, or to protect something he had to leave behind years ago.
Whats important to him is brotherhood, camaraderie, trust and safety of his crew.
Believe it or not but capns not the main character in my story. Hes a key character, but the main character is Makal. Hes vulnerable, brash, and eager as he is young. Not experienced as a fighter, has alot to learn in terms of combat but can hold his own against grunt soldiers.
