A background is also a good solution, you can pull off something cute given a character's patterns. :p
Shading is technical, because you have to think about lights in a 3d sense, but some artists can do a great job applying shades to all parts of an image. I just focus on edges.
Adding more details never hurts. Going back to do proper eye colors, putting in more fluff, and little lines and effects can go a long way. (Though I honestly stink at fluff, I need to do it more often.)
@ThisOneSkunk Oooh! I can kinda answer! (With a grain of salt, I'm not the BEST artist, but I have advice!)
Say I drew a Sunset, and I wanted to improve:
(Which I did in pencil to show the rough ideas, because I'm lazy.)
You know, last year, someone on Tumblr actually asked what was up with the Diodes and LEDs, and I don't remember if my response made it to Twitter or not.
But here. c:
Kinda wanted to give Diode and LED claws... maybe retractable ones, but maybe not.
...more like "Yet another indicator that they're annoyed," but uh... I dunno.
LED can totally rock them, I won't lie, his are kinda cool.
Here's a fun fact, after making this almost a year ago, I said something along the lines of, "Oh, I actually never played FNF that much."
That statement is still true. There are community made tracks that are cool, buuuuut I still haven't touched FNF since then.
Equalizer LED? Maybe. I still want to try adding something to this in the future.
An old repost, buuuut, Crypt of the Necrodancer!
